In 2010, the state-owned BFB Frühphasenfond Brandenburg invested almost one million euros in the outdoor app Komoot. The route planner with navigation app made it to the top of the app store in 2020, and the company is highly profitable. Now the fund expires at the end of the year, shares of 15% were sold. According to Manager magazine, the Austrian René Benko is also said to have expressed interest and offered a three-digit million amount. Komoot declined, stating that it did not want to have a major investor on board.
